It is not clear how long the tracking software is working.
The app’s official Twitter account, which is only visible when the app is running, did not respond to queries about the status of the tracking.
“Our app works great, thanks to your continuous support,” the tweet read.
The tweet said the app would be updated on a daily basis.
On the company’s website, it lists a range of features including an “all-in-one freight tracking solution”, “tracking multiple locations at once”, “detecting and managing freight loads”, and “tracking your freight and freight container movements”.
The app has been available since May 2017.
News24 has contacted the Australian Transport Safety Bureau for comment.
The Federal Government has not made any public comments on the case.
The ABC contacted the Department of Transport and Main Roads for comment, but had not received a response.
