The Indian online retailer will be the first to offer its customers 24-hours of live and 24-day online freight and delivery services, as part of its ongoing efforts to boost its international growth.
According to a report in The Hindu, Amazon will be offering 24-h live freight and 24-, 48- and 72-hour logistics services on its website from October 13 to October 27, in an effort to provide the Indian public with a convenient online shopping experience and expand its presence in the country.
Amazon India’s online retail business, which includes online and offline retailing, has been steadily expanding in recent years.
In October this year, the company announced that it would be launching an online store in India to cater to the growing Indian population.
Amazon.com has been in India for nearly two decades and is the largest e-tailer in the world with more than 1,200 outlets.
The company has also been working hard to diversify its business into other sectors, with the launch of its e-retail business in 2017.
This year, it is also set to expand into online shopping, with plans to launch a new online store by October 26.
The Bengaluru launch comes after Amazon announced plans to set up a new e-shopping platform in Bengaluret in 2018.
The online retailer had been eyeing to expand its footprint in the Indian market with its own logistics operation in Bengal.
The Bengaluru-based e-marketing giant has also set up an office in New Delhi and will begin its presence there by next year.
