Bay City News – A new lease for a freight elevator at the Harbor Freight Yard in Port St. Lucie has the potential to make the harbor more profitable.
In an agreement announced Thursday, the Port Authority of Florida will lease the elevator to the Port of Everglades, a new lease of which will be available for use beginning March 31, 2019.
The lease, which will include freight access, is valued at $1.9 million.

The last agreement expired in 2019.
The Port of St. Louis also leased the Harbor freight elevator to Evergreen International Inc. for use at the Evergreen terminal, where Evergreen operates its fleet of freight elevators.
The agreement expires June 1, 2020.
